I think I picked up my first liveSTRONG bracelet back in April from Richardson Bike Mart. I loved the idea of a fundraiser for the Lance Armstrong Foundation and constantly remembering my Grandfather, who passed away from colon cancer when I was a teenager. I've probably bought 50+ for people in my office, friends, etc.; half at RBM and the others at wearyellow.com.
Now, seems like everyone is wearing them and if you can't find them, you can pony up to $25 on eBay to get one (doubt any is going to the LAF...).
I wrote back in August about the possibility of pink one's for the Koman Foundation (Breast Cancer foundation in Dallas) as an obvious next step.

This article from the St. Louis Post Dispatch shows the frenzy and new bracelets that are showing up around town. Pink one's (great idea!) for a local breast cancer foundation have sold out, and of course, a "Go Cards" for the playoff Cardinals.

I guess when liveSTRONG blew away the goal of $5M (latest figures are somewhere north of $15M), everyone else is jumping on board...or jumping the shark.

Good idea Brian. I haven't seen one for an AIDS fundraiser though.
You're right, it is a "simple" fundraiser that a wonderful bradning element (LAF = Lance = Tour de France = Yellow = etc.).

Rebecca,
Good question! I've been saying that the Koman foundation (breast cancer research) should produce pink ones for a fundraiser.
Have you tried contacting the charity in St. Louis that is referenced in the article?
Good luck!

Read my latest posting on the pink bracelets. There is a lot of confusion about them.

Pink "champions of hope" bracelets are available at kroger in Ohio for a dollar. All money goes to cancer research.

do you know where/how to make bracelets of your own?

Liz,
There are comapanies out there that will make custom bracelets with whatever you want on them. Just do a google search and you will find them.
Its probably what the people are doing to make all the different colored liveSTRONG's to make a quick buck.
Good luck.
