People You Need to Meet: Reel Reviews
I first heard about Michael Geoghegan's Reel Reviews podcast and blog while listening to Adam Curry's Daily Source Code podcast a few months ago. Adam kept trying to pronounce Michael's last name, finally gave up and just said, 'you got to listen to this guy's podcast; its great!'.
I immediately subscribed via iPodder, wondering what Adam was hyping. I love movies, but Michael is at another level. His blog gives you previews to what his podcast audio covers. He has amazing knowledge about the history and little known stories about the movies he reviews.
He is currently doing a Cinephile Series on Apocalypse Now (warning, only listen to this if you have already seen the movie!). His other reviews cover movies that he really finds interesting and gives you enough background and info on the movie to make you want to go rent it immediately. For example,I had never seen Bullitt before and after listening to his review, I immediately rented it and also TiVo'd Paris, TX after his review as well.
Movies are his passion and it comes through while reading his blog and listening to his podcast!
Enjoy.
