Week #7 of the What if? Monday feature. Leave your thoughts in a comment below.
What if you spent an entire day away from your office, but your still "worked"?
What would you accomplish? Would your priorities be different? Would you think more "big picture" and strategically?
Bren at Slacker Manager wrote a while back about his "vertical day" and it really hit home. I do something similar, but its usually after 6p or God forbid, on a Saturday or Sunday.
However, I'm not talking about getting "caught up" (if there is such a thing...). I'm talking about being away from the office. Thinking, working, doing.
What would your to do list look like?

Bren makes a good point for people who have either experienced this, or wish to be able to work from home. As someone who does this on a regular basis I can attest that it is both liberating and challenging. Working in a creative profession, sometimes being out of the office helps me to think more clearly and more openly and at the same time I usually have to deal with making lunches and changing diapers during my "work day". It is a different dynamic and it can be much different than one might imagine.
