Skype is amazing
Thank you Terry for pushing me to get set up with Skype. If you aren't using it, start now! Voice Over IP (VoIP) is big news and quite an amazing service for business and personal calls.
Anyone that has kids in college or friends out of town, you should use Skype to talk to each other. Guess how much it costs to talk to another person using Skype? Nothing! That beats the price of your long distance plan, huh?
All you need is to download the software, have a microphone that is connected to your computer and voila!, you are set! I use my bluetooth cell phone headset with my laptop and it works like a charm.
It also has a cool IM and file sharing program as well.
This is another piece of technology that could rewrite the rules.
I added this Skype button to my Blog Stuff section on the bottom right to connect to me.

it's definitely the shit, even though I have yet to use it myself. The quality of Skype has come a long way, as I discovered from listening to Jawbone Radio's interview with Amanda from Rocketboom (jawboneradio.blogspot.com).
Chris and I were talking on Sunday, while we were at the radio station doing our regular weekly show, and I am working to get him using it for the interviews that he does outside of the radio station. Might use you as my Skype guinea pig to work out the bugs on my end - I've had it installed for a couple of months now, but have not used it yet.
got the Dream Theater Maiden "official bootleg" - awesome!!
I had a hard time visiting your site, by the way - I was so traumatized by the thought of a day without email - I know we had times before there was email, but dang, I can't remember what it was like!!

Matt,
There are a number of podcasters that are relying a ton on Skype, both for recording "call ins", but also to hold entire interviews. I think Chris Pirillo is doing everything 100% Skype.
As far as no email...I hear you. Make a call on Skype!
