as an avid Palm lover, I was a bit intimidated by going "low-tech" with the Moleskine. It won't replace the massive amounts of data I carry in my old Clie, but the simple "organic" factor keeps it in my pocket more often than its digital counterpart.
I simply date the top pages, and keep my small sketches and doodles in it. It's especially effective at the gym, where I come up with a lot of my creative ideas. Oh, and I don't worry that it will get stepped on or dropped, either. My only problem is finding a way to attach a pen to it so I won't continually lose it.

Ken,
I clip my Pilot Precise V5 to the outside cover and attach the band around the Moleskine. The pen fits pretty snug on its own and the band secures it even more.
Thanks for the comment!

I'm going to have to get one of these. I typically by small cheap lined notebooks ($2-3) and I'm perplexed as to what the rage is over the Moleskines.
...not just perplexed, but also significantly intrigued. I certainly understand the difference between a nice rollerball or gel pen. I really like the Pilot G-2's. I guess it's time to experience the better notebook and paper.
I'm tempted to start with the plain Moleskine vs the ruled one. I'm an engineer, and I need to break from structure a bit.

As an engineer, I think you will like the flexibility and structure that you can set up. Yes, there really isn't a difference between the Moleskine and a regular notebook, but wait!, there really is!
Something about the hard binding, the size, the band you wrap around it...
I have set mine up with tabbed dividers and it just feels right.
Get one, personalize it to your needs and have fun!
