Back to the regular Monday feature! In honor of Coldplay's new release, X&Y:
What if there was no lie; nothing wrong, nothing right
What if there was no time; and no reason or rhyme
What if you should decide; that you don't want me there by your side, that you don't want me there in your life...
What if I got it wrong; and no poem or song
Could put right what I got wrong; and make you feel that I belong
What if you should decide that you don't want there by your side, that you don't want me there in your life...
- from What if, Coldplay, 2nd track from X&Y
What if you could of written one song? Which one would of it been?
Would it be your favorite song? One that has special meaning to you?
It is impossible for me to decide on one song...Red Hill Mining Town by U2? Unchained by Van Halen? Kashmir by Led Zeppelin? Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison? Folsom Prison Blues by Johnny Cash? Peg by Steely Dan?
I probably could pick 10 songs from each genre of music...
Side note: do you think the band was reading my What if feature when they started writing this song?
Wishful thinking!

Intersting post. Let's see, I'd have written Reelin' in the Years (I'm also a fan of "the Dan"), specifically "You've been telling me you were a genius since you were 17, and all the times I've known you, I still don't know what you mean." I'd also have written Piano Man by Billy Joel, and would have written Perfect Love by Marc Cohn.

Positively 4th Street or Just Like a Woman by Bob Dylan, in fact if I could write just one song like Bob Dylan I'd die proud.
