I get this question mostly now from friends that usually always say, "I don't know where you get the time". It is the same thing I hear about my triathlon training.
I bet anything that you have a passion for takes time, and I bet you figure out a way to do it. Me personally, I hardly watch TV anymore. I'm up early for blogging and triathlon training and sometimes there is time in the evening or weekend.
The bottom line is that is makes me sharp. It keeps me on my toes. I meet amazing people and constantly learn.
If you are blogging right now, keep it up! Leave comments on those blogs that you read and give feedback. If you aren't blogging, why not? I'm sure you have some great things to say and probably more importantly, have some things to learn and teach.
David over at Ripples is much more profound than me (he's also a much better writer!). He thinks blogging will transform your life. He may be right.

I can spend time being profound because I don't do triathlon training and I don't work a 9 to 5 job! :)
TV is no longer an option. It sucks up too much time for the payback involved. A well-written post, on the other hand, is incredibly satisfying and each one leaves me feeling like I've made a contribution to posterity.
Thanks for your post, because it started a new train of thought rolling. A contribution to posterity....
Has a nice sound, doesn't it!
A good reason to blog.

I just started to blog and it makes me more aware of the world around and it is really forcing the creativity out of me.

Aloha Todd,
Funny, as demanding as blogging can seem to be, the time thing is a non-issue for me too. There's only so much time in each day so it does boil down to a question of how you spend it. Like David, I have no patience for TV anymore unless what's on is cause for a family or social event where you are reaping other greater rewards.
Jeff had some great insights too. The mind is a spectacular thing, and we are all going to think about stuff: blogging gives us a way to share those thoughts we have anyway versus keeping them inside. But it does also help you get better, for if it's going to be written down for all to read it better be good! As a writer, blogging has given me a lot of practice with self-editing ... something we all need.
A hui hou, Rosa

People ask me where I find time to do things all the time. The easiest, and most honest, answer, I always give is to say I only do what gives me energy, and not much of what saps my energy. It's a case of 1 + 1 = 2 as opposed to 1 - 1 = 0. Whenever I feel like I'm "too busy," I just think about what I'm doing that's feeding my energy, and do more of that, and try to do less of what takes it. Passion equals energy too. And Todd, never give up the passion!

Can I quote you? "The bottom line is that is makes me sharp. It keeps me on my toes. I meet amazing people and constantly learn."
I'm compiling a list of quotes about the value of blogs for a page on my web site, including quotes from Red Herring, Pew, and others.

Amen to that! What I can't understand is why anyone is Not blogging...

Tinu,
I appreciate it, but there are a few reason why, right?
- lack of knowledge
- procrastination
- unwillingness to learn
- unwillingness to try something new
Have a great day and I hope you continue to read and subscribe to Business Thoughts!
