Great Post, Thank you!

You are correct, anyone can purchase the bracelets at the discounted $.49 cent price.. However 80% of our sales come from schools, nonprofit groups, and community organizations all of which mean well in their efforts. With the overwhelming demand for “Relief Bracelets” we felt that it would be best to produce them in large quantities and sell them at a greatly reduced price to the consumer, therefore giving the honest buyer a greater margin per bracelet to successfully raise money for the charity or relief group of their choice.

We realize that some people may use this opportunity to capitalize from the goodwill of others but we simply, as an organization, can’t sit by without making our best effort to provide the do-gooders with the tools they need to help raise money for the relief efforts from this horrible tragedy. When a disaster like this happens and we become inundated with custom orders ranging in quantity from 50-100,000 we feel that we have only 2 choices. Option #1 is to handle all of the orders as a custom order which means charging standard pricing, or Option #2 (which is the route we feel is the right option) is to make the bracelets in a large quantity of a standardized design and pass the savings along to the persons looking to purchase the bracelets in a wide range of quantities.

In closing thanks for taking the time to help people beware of the pitfalls that may occur when trying to donate money to Relief Groups. I would like to reiterate that anyone unsure of the legitimacy of the “retail fund raising seller” should just give the money directly to a reputable charity. I assure you that there will however be countless schools, church groups and non-profits out there working endlessly to help the victims of this terrible tragedy, and that the majority of these sellers will have great intentions.

Jonathan,

I appreciate you commenting with your company's thoughts and plans. The ability for those to purchase at a discount seems like a fair and good opportunity for those wanting a way to raise money for hurricane relief efforts.

Again, it is up to the buyer to understand the sellers' charity intentions of these or other types of bracelets.

I only want to draw attention to the fact that there will be plenty of people selling bracelets for a profit, under the false intentions to help out charities. This has been shown time and time again with fake lifeSTRONG bracelets.

Thank you for your comment and hard work!

Todd
