Yesterday I had my 6th vocal chord surgery. I've been having issues that lead me to get extremely hoarse and I have to have a laser procedure to clean off the chords.
All went well and I'm on strict voice rest for 2 days (no talking at all) and very, very limited speaking for about a week.
Believe me, this is nothing compared to what others have to deal with, so I send even more emails at work and carry around paper and pen to write out my thoughts. It is really more of a mental challenge than anything else.
Not being able to use your voice, when you technically can, causes you to really understand how important body language and eye contact is day to day.
"Talk" to you soon!

wow man - who knew that I was having my last "hoarse" conversation with you!
best wishes on your recovery - once you get your deep pipes in line, we can record up Matt and Todd's Metal Bonanza!

I hope that you are back in fine voice again soon :o) What the h*ll are you doing still at work though - surgery and then back to work??? Doesn't fit with what you were writing recently about healthy lifestyles and putting yourself first .
In any case I hope you are well soon and that you and your family remain safe if Rita heads in your direction.

Surgery on Tuesday; work with no voice on Wednesday!
Not healthy to sit around the house when you feel good!!!
Thanks Leah!

I thought that whole hoarseness thing was kinda sexy... your own podcast signature and all...
Go for the really delicious ice cream or sorbet and feel better soon,
