Ted Nugent at Billy Bob's

My station brought Ted Nugent to Billy Bob's for our 3rd Annual Birthday Bash last night (1/29/05).  Regardless of his age, Ted still rocks the house making no excuses for his ear assult.

I was 5 feet from the stage at stage left and 18 hours after the show, my ears are still ringing (why didn't I wear ear plugs....?).

Alterbridge Rocked Dallas!

My brother Terry and I have a tradition to see Metallica and Creed when they come to Dallas. Of course, we had to go see Mark Tremonti's new band, Alterbridge!

After seeing Creed twice at Sminoff Music Center and once at Reunion Arena, it was fantastic to see Tremonti at the much smaller Gypsy Tea Room (10/23/04)! Probably around 1,000 people packed into the venue vs. 12,000+ at the other shows.

They played every song off the new album and they sounded fantastic. Tremonti tore it up on stage and they closed with Deep Purple's "Highway Star".

I'll add more specifics about the show soon, but if you are a Creed/Tremonti fan, go see the show!

Bone Bash 2004 - Eddie Van Who?

My station's biggest concert event of the year is called Bone Bash. 3 bands played before the headliner, Cheap Trick.

In front of a crowd of approximately 30,000 in Downtown Ft. Worth, I was able to debut the 5150 beauty Mike Wolverton and Jeremey put together for me. Big thank you to Paul (Van Halen Guy!) and his band, XES Whiskey (check out their site for a bunch of Bone Bash concert photos) for the opportunity and of course Musicyo.com!

5150 Guitar Masterpiece!

The best way I can describe this guitar is to remember how much I loved my first bike I got from Santa...there is just something special about it!

Mike Wolverton from VintageKramer.com and Jeremey (custom guitar paint - Axewerks) have done a fantastic job on this guitar!! Make sure to check out their sites and the other guitars they have completed!

She made her debut at a local bar last night (9/9/04) with great success and look for more info early next week about 40,000 plus that will see this in action over the weekend!

The finish work on this guitar is amazing. They did amazing work on the details. Check out the cigarette burns on the headstock, the worn "belt" marks on the back and the worn paint on the butt from the arm rest!

Yes, it plays as well as it looks!

Eddie Van Halen Guitar Freaks!

There's a whole lot of us out there! I recently have gotten to know Mike Wolverton who started a web site called VintageKramer.com. An excellent site for all of the Kramer guitar gear heads.

Alter Bridge - Mark Tremonti rules

Picked up the new CD today with much anticipation and after 2 quick listens, I am not disappointed in the least. Here's the album in nut shell:

1) If you liked Creed, then you'll think this is their new album
2) The songs sound like a mixture from all of the previous Creed albums
3) There are songs that are made for radio and songs that are made to rock out arenas
4) Mark Tremonti (guitarist) is the obvious force behind this band and all of Creeds' past musical success
5) Look for heavy rotation in Active Rock formats, followed by Pop A/C as they catch on (just like Creed did)

Mark Tremonti's new band - Alter Bridge

I first heard the song on 99.5 KISS FM in San Antonio a few weeks ago and it was a blast from the Creed past...the same excitement I had about the first Creed album, I have for this release (8/10/04).

From the clips I've heard on their website, sure sounds like Tremonti is back to the drop-D tuning riffs that put the first album on the map.

Again, this should prove that his songwriting and guitar work was the lifeforce of Creed and from the sounds of the new singer, prove that Scott Stapp is an idiot for thinking he made the band.

Rock on!

Eddie Van Halen's New Guitar Company

I've recently met an EVH fan that is more of a freak than me. Paul "the Van Halen" guy is probably what I would of become without my parents getting me off to college. He is a rep for Charvel and he let me know about this about a month before it happened...

Paul's band, XES Whiskey kick serious arse. Check them out live. Paul's love of the guitar and all things Van Halen is on display around D/FW!

Anyway, Eddie signs on with the '80's shred machine company Charvel. Anyone that wants to know what I want for Christmas, my Birthday or any other reason....check this out!
